| Story as per DVD cover Cruise plays Dr William Harford, who plunges into an erotic foray that threatens his marraige - and may even ensnare him in a lurid murder mystery - after his wife's (Kidman) admission of sexual longings. The story sweeps from doubt and fear to self-discovery and reconciliation. Comments This was the last work of Stanley Kubrick before his death in March, 1999. He died in his sleep just after doing the final cut of the film. He had not made a film for 10 years before this. Shooting began on the film in 1997 and the film was released in 1999. Most of it is filmed in England, and Nicole and Tom became very close to Stanley and his wife.Both Nicole and Tom talk about this friendship and the shock of his death in their interviews on the DVD. 1 minute of the film was banned from appearing on the US version of the CD.It was Stanley Kubrick's first film to open at no 1 at the box office. |
