Story
The turbulent years of Australian History from 1964 to 1972 with the Vietnam war as a backdrop and focusing on the Goddard family.

Comments
(from her biography by Tim Ewbank and Stafford Hildred. Headline Book Publishing)
Nicole played the role of Megan Goddard who developed in the story from an awkward 14 year-old schoolgirl into an outspoken and free-thinking 24 year-old protestor. The dramatic high point of
Vietnam comes when Megan is a guest on a radio phone-in show protesting against the horrors of conscription. When a recently returned Vietnam veteran calls the program to question her arguments, Megan recognises her estranged brother's voice and breaks down in sobs. To this day it is the scene many people remember when they think of her. "Watching her," says John Duigan, "there wasn't a dry eye in the whole country". Terry Hayes was spellbound.
